CWEA ECI Revalidation

The Purpose of this Wiki

Your profession is a rapidly growing, dynamic one. That means the duties performed and skills necessary to perform them are constantly changing. This impacts the measurement of competency in your field, and CWEA must strive to keep up with it. Each of CWEA's certification vocations must be reviewed at least every five years to ensure our exams match your real-world job experience. CWEA's Environmental Compliance Inspector (ECI) exam is now up for re-validation to make sure CWEA continues test for the appropriate essential duties (ED). To do that, we need to hear from you, the people who do the work, from entry-level to top management.

The purpose of this wiki is for CWEA to collect feedback from you. Your feedback and discussion threads will be used as reference when CWEA staff revise the current essential duties into a simplified list of knowledge, skills and abilities. The essential duties outlines what subject matter areas and candidates can expect to see on the ECI tests. The test content specifications will vary depending on the grade level.

The current test content areas can be found in the candidate handbook. After we finalize the new test content areas your helping CWEA develop, we will publish the final product on the candidate handbook and the corresponding study guide. This is your opportunity to let us know how the test content areas correspond to your job.
